Jack Nicholson
Three-time Academy
Award winning actor Jack Nicholson will
be presented with the prestigious Marquee
Award, which recognizes the artistic excellence,
professional accomplishment and dedication
to cinema by an actor or director whose
talent has in a fundamental way advanced
film art. Nicholson’s writing, directing
and producing 1971 feature “Drive,
He Said” and “Five Easy Pieces”
will be screened during the festival.

Half-Life
Award

Robin Wright Penn
Holly Hunter
The inaugural Half-Life Award will be presented
to Academy Award winning actor Sean Penn,
Robin Wright Penn and Academy Award winning
actress Holly Hunter for their accomplishments
in film. The Half-Life Award was created
to honor actors, directors and writers who
have contributed greatly to their profession
and amassed an impressive body of work,
which has elevated their craft at a young
age. Penn’s writing, directing, producing
1991 feature “The Indian Runner”
will screen as well as the Penn and Wright
Penn starrer “She’s So Lovely.”
Hunter’s Academy Award winning performance
in the 1994 feature “The Piano”
will screen during the festival.

Bruce Conner, David Lynch and Julian Schnabel
and will be presented with the CineVegas
Vanguard Director Award, which recognizes
a director for their visionary achievements
in cinema.
Lynch’s 1977 film,
“Eraserhead” will be screened
during the festival followed by a Q &
A with the director. Renowned artist and
director Schnabel will screen his 2000 film
“Before Night Falls” during
the festival followed by a Q & A with
the director. Conner, also an artist, is
a highly influential short filmmaker and
a selection of his films including A MOVIE,
COSMIC RAY and REPORT will be shown during
the festival.

Dean Stockwell
Dean Stockwell will receive the inaugural
"Changed My Life Award” for his
role in the 1941 film “The Boy With
Green Hair.” The award celebrates
the power of movies and their ability to
poignantly resonate beyond the theater.
Stockwell’s 1984 film, “Paris,
Texas” will also have a special screening.
